ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA
 Student must have a minimum 2.7 overall GPA and be in good university standing.
 Candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student in one of the following disciplines:

Health & Safety
Business
Preference will be given to students entering their junior or senior year; as well as to
students from Freeport-McMoRan’s operating communities.
 Scholarships are available to students with U.S. citizenship. Students attending a North
American university with citizenship in Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo,
Chile, Peru, Canada, Mexico or Australia.
 Scholarship renewal is contingent upon academic progress; the discretion of the
university department or professional organization staff, and the Freeport-McMoRan
review committee.
 Prior receipt of a scholarship does not guarantee a future academic year scholarship.
APPLICATION/SELECTION PROCESS
 Students must apply through their respective University. (Visit
http://www.fcx.com/about/scholarships.htm for a list of contacts).
 Applications will be received and reviewed by the University; and forwarded to FreeportMcMoRan.
 The Freeport-McMoRan Review Committee reserves the right of final approval with
respect to the selection of all scholarship recipients.
 Selected recipients will be notified of their selection by the university or professional
organization through which they applied.
 Freeport-McMoRan reserves the right to communicate directly with scholarship award
recipients regarding company news and available employment and intern
opportunities.
