Distance Calculus Program
Program Description: The Distance Calculus Program allows advanced mathematics students to
complete Georgia Tech Math 1502 and 2401 (Calculus II & III) for high school and college credit.
Minimum Admission Requirements
1. Score of 4 or 5 on AP Calculus AB exam OR score of 3, 4 or 5 on AP Calculus BC exam
2. Overall GPA of 3.5 on Georgia Tech's recalculated scale
3. Math GPA of 3.5 on Georgia Tech's recalculated scale
Georgia Tech recalculates students’ GPA’s using a weighted 4.0 grading scale. Grades from core classes
(English, math, science, social studies, and world language) and ALL AP and college-level classes are
included in the GPA calculation. For students taking AP or college-level classes, Georgia Tech awards an
additional half point (0.5) for each course grade. Weight is not added for Honors courses.
Competitive Ranges (based on 2013-2014 admitted students)
Mid 50% SAT: 2000-2250
Mid 50% ACT: 30-33
Mid 50% GPA: 3.9-4.2
Evaluating Your Test Scores
SAT Critical Reading = ACT English
SAT Math = ACT Math
SAT Writing = ACT combined English/Writing
Admission to the Distance Calculus Program is based on a competitive review process, as there are more
qualified applicants than space available. Please note that meeting the minimum requirements listed
above does not guarantee admission to the program. Applicants to the program will be evaluated
according to a holistic review process, and Georgia Tech will consider a student's overall mathematics
performance when making their admission decisions.
