Begin by Opening Pages and choosing three topics. Research the topics
using the Websites above or Google Websites. Be sure to include the
words Renaissance and K12. When you’re finished collecting research,
you’ll write a newspaper article using the software (or paper) of your
choice. This is your final graded project. It’s worth 40 points. The
rubric will be available on Monday.
Introduction
HEAR YE, HEAR YE:
His royal majesty the great King Henry VIII has called
you forth to go on a special mission. The term
Renaissance means "rebirth". During the time of the
Renaissance Europe saw an explosion of new art,
philosophy, religion, and literature. Such authors as
William Shakespeare and John Milton lived during this
time.
Although the Renaissance time is coined as being
"fun, fun, fun", problems still existed throughout
Europe. You have been called forth by the great King
Henry VIII to find out what is happening in his shire
and develop a newsletter to report your finding. Thou
shall have exactly three plus weeks (Due April 8th) to
find your discoveries and report back to his royal
majesty.
Process
The steps to complete the project are as follows:
2. Students will select six of the topics listed below.
3. Each student will write a column on each of the six
topics for the newsletter describing an aspect of
everyday life of Europe during the Renaissance.
4. Each student will design the layout of their
newsletter.
Task
1. Each student will research different subjects on
the Renaissance.
2. Each student will develop a newspaper with articles
on what they have learned.
