Economics like any science uses certain terms that have a specialized
meaning. Before the student of economics can really understand the language of the
science, it is necessary to comprehend the exact meaning of certain terms which though
used in everyday speech may mean differently when they are used in the economic sense.
There is a need for definition of terms in specific analysis which requires exactness of

production, exchange, distribution and consumption. In this chapter, we shall begin the
discussion of production. There is continuous activity of all kinds in society all of which
are directed to the satisfaction of human wants. Wealth is the means of satisfying human
wants, and wealth can only be obtained through work or the exertion of effort. When we
speak of the exertion of effort to obtained wealth or goods, we are concerned with
production. Production takes many different forms, carpenters, weavers, blacksmith,
bakers, while others mining, lumbering, newspaper work and painting. There are still

production.
Chapter III
I- Introduction:
After discussing the nature of production, we are ready to take up the part
played by the different factors or agents of production. Production is carried on by the
cooperation of these factors and their importance in the productive process. This chapter

Subject: AC ENG Introduction to Linguistics
Importance of language to education
As far as we know, man has always been interested in language, in such
matters as its origin, its nature, and its various uses, whether in persuasion, poetry, or
prayer. Language has been something of a mystery to him, not unlike the mysteries of
creation, the origin of the sun, and the coming of fire. It has provided man with such a
rich source of myth that even today much of the mystery of language prevails. It is
widely associated with linguistics may be used to illustrate areas of agreement. The
particular definition of language is a system of arbitrary vocal symbols used for human
communication. We must observe that language must use systematically or other wise it
could not be learned or used consistently.
Language as arbitrary it means that we cannot predict exactly which
specific features we will find in a particular language if we are unfamiliar with the
language or with a related language. There will be no way of predicting what a word
means just for hearing it, of knowing in advance weather or how nouns will be inflected
or of saying weather pronouns will fall into any particular pattern.
Language as vocals it refers to the fact that the primary medium of
language is sound, and it is sound for all language, no matter how well developed as their
writing system.
Language as symbol it is the fact that there is no connection, or at least in
a few cases only a minimal connection, between the sounds that people use and the
objects to which these sound refer.
Language as human it refers to the fact that the kind of system that interest
us is possessed only by human being and it is very different from the communication
system that other forms of life possess.
Language as communication it is allows people to say things to each other
and express their communicative needs.
It is very important to us to study language to communicate very easy and
understand the value of life; if we do not have language it’s hard for us to know what the
specific needs are..
