using these postulates to determine whether or not a microbe causes a particular disease.

Chapter 2:

Be able to draw the path of light through a convex lens, and to show where the
focal point would be.
Chapter 3:
A.
Text Review Questions 1, 2, 4 (First sentence, only), 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Describe the roles of FtsZ, MreB and CreS in the bacterial cytoskeleton.
C.
Describe the mycobacterial cell wall.
D.
Describe the structure of the nucleoid.
E.
Discuss the roles that bacterial structures such as outer membranes, cell walls and
capsules can have on the severity of human disease.
F.
Describe how antibiotics can target the bacterial cell wall, and be able to give
specific examples.
G.
Be able to discuss the functions of different bacterial cell wall components.
