AREAS OF INTEREST
WALK TO CURE ARTHRITIS OR JINGLE BELL RUN/WALK:
This is the area of the Arthritis Foundation where the most dedicated and highly skilled volunteers are needed.
May is Arthritis Awareness month and to increase visibility for this important issue the Arthritis Foundation holds
several Arthritis Walks throughout the country. Be a Team Captain by forming a team and recruit members for
your team, help on the day of the walk, or come into the office before hand and help with other preparations.

HELP & SUPPORT:
The Arthritis Foundation provides valued and trusted information and education to help people better manage
their arthritis. The Foundation is the 24/7 source for reliable information through our website, mobile
applications, toll-free hotline, and local offices. This area of volunteering also provides much personal reward.
Training is available. Staff will assist in placing volunteers.
Present community education seminars throughout the community
Staff an Arthritis Foundation information table at a local health fair
Educate participants at one of our signature events (Walk to Cure Arthritis or Jingle Bell Run)
YOUTH PROGRAMS:
The Arthritis Foundation has an unwavering commitment to serving children and families with juvenile arthritis.
To address the unique needs of children and families, the Arthritis Foundation offers community events,
medically supervised camps and welcome kits, a new Kids Get Arthritis Too website, the annual National
Juvenile Arthritis Conference and a consistent focus on Juvenile Arthritis priorities in our advocacy and research
efforts. Background check may be required.

GRANT-WRITING
Writing grants is a long-term process that requires attention to detail, research, gathering information and other
necessary documents, organizing, ability to write and narrate a story to fulfill a need with the end-goal of gaining
financial support from a foundation.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/COMMUNICATIONS:
There are several opportunities to be involved in public relations, such as being available for interviews by radio,
print, TV media. Also, in office opportunity is sometimes available.
