3. The sexual arousal of a male Japanese quail can be classically conditioned.
Just before presenting a very voluptuous approachable female quail, the
researchers turned on a bright red light that signaled the arrival of the female
and over time it caused the male quail to become sexually excited when the
female arrived. The male develop quite an interest in the cages “red light
district”- he became very sexually aroused just by the appearance of the red
light.
