What is the
International Baccalaureate
Diploma Program?
It is a world-renowned program leading to a prestigious Graduation Diploma recognized
for admission to many universities throughout the world (more than 800 universities in
North America alone). The International Baccalaureate Diploma is a symbol of:
 academic integrity,
 intellectual excellence, and
 international standards based on externally set and externally marked examinations.
The program is offered in grades eleven and twelve. Preparation for admission to the
Diploma Program begins in grade nine.

AND CHECK LIST
Your completed application package may be delivered, mailed, or scanned and
emailed to Vaughan Road Academy. (PLEASE DO NOT FAX APPLICATIONS).
In order to be considered for an interview, your completed application package
MUST include ALL of the following components:

Information Form

Option Sheet (course selections; 1 sheet only);

Optional Attendance Form (if applying from within the TDSB system);

Student Contract and Computer Use Contract;

Final grade seven report;

Most recent grade 8 progress report.
The completed Application Package must be received by
Friday, December 11th, 2015.
Please note that the above listed items must be sent together as a single
package. We will NOT process partially completed application packages. All of

Students who meet the criteria will be invited to come to Vaughan Road Academy on
Wednesday, January 13th, 2016 (time to be determined). They will be required
to write an essay on a topic presented that day. As well, students will
complete a mathematics diagnostic exercise.
The day will be broken up into two sessions:
Interviews and English/Mathematics diagnostics.

appropriate materials and books for each course.

Academy I agree to follow the policies regarding computer use including:
 being respectful and responsible in my use and care of all computer equipment and
software
 accessing only areas of the computer system for which I have been granted permission
 using the Internet in support of educational research only, consistent with the educational
objectives of Vaughan Road Academy; I will support these objectives by not transmitting any

accessing records without authorization of any other type of disruption
 obtaining prior approval from staff for the use of any computer software on the computer
 reporting immediately to staff any hardware or software problems
 saving files only to my personal disk space
 being responsible in my use of printers and obtaining permission before printing documents
and printing documents only when necessary.
 understanding that computer use is monitored and that computer use is not
