Dear Tutors,
Please hand out the attached fingerprint grids. The idea is to spot
the differences and identify them using the grid reference.
There are ten differences and they are identified by the following
grid references:
B3, C6, C8, C12, E2, E7, F3, F10, H7, H11
All on ppt/IWB
Extension questions:
Does anyone know how many types of fingerprint patterns the FBI
recognises as distinct types?
Answer:
8 pattern types, they are: Plain Arch, Tented Arch, Ulnar Loop,
Radial Loop, Plain Whorl, Central Pocket Loop, Double Loop
Whorl, Accidental Whorl
What pattern type do you think the fingerprint you’ve been
examining comes under?
Answer:
Double Loop Whorl
