Student Releases: Golf Team at 1:30 pm
The Tracy High School Drama Department is premiering their first student directed play of
the year entitled Rumors by Neil Simon on September 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 pm in the E. B.
Theatre. Tickets are on presale at the Bookkeepers’ Office and will be sold at the door.
Tickets cost $5 for students and $7 for general admission. Come and support the Arts with
this hilarious play!
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM BLOCK T PROGRAM forms are available in the Career
Education office. You must complete 100 hours of community service within April 21, 2012
and ending April 19, 2013. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a
Block “T” Letter. Awards will be presented in May. The program is open to all high school
students. Please remember that 75 hours can come from one activity and the remaining 25
hours needed for the 100 hours would need to come from another volunteer activity. Club
meetings, dance performances, performing in a play, job training, singing in a choir in Church
are not considered community service. Helping friends and family is admirable but NOT
recognized for a THS Block T. Volunteer time must be done at a recognized non-profit
agency or event for no compensation, no school credit & outside normal school hours. Student
Community Service Award Program Guidelines are printed on back page of program forms.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
Hearts of Harvest Gala is having their annual event at the Del Osso Vineyards on Bird Road on
September 22nd. We need YOUR help! We need volunteers to help serve appetizers, refill
appetizer plates, serve dinner, and clean up after dinner. To sign up call 627-5342 or email

Kids In A Box – is a wonderful event that brings awareness to the Tracy community of the
everyday conditions many families endure because they are homeless. This Fundraiser, in its
13th Year in Tracy benefits McHenry House Tracy Family Shelter. This event will be held on
September 21-22nd, 2012 – 4 p.m. Friday – 8 a.m.-Saturday (on the grassy area) at St.
Bernard’s on Eaton. Space is limited to the first 350 participants. Pick up registration forms
NOW at McHenry House Tracy Family Shelter Office – 793 “A” Street or
www.McHenryHouseTracy.org.

An Admissions Counselor from USC – University of Southern California will host an
information session on Thursday, September 6th, at 8:15 am in the Counselor’s Conference
Room. Sign-up in the Career Education Office.
San Joaquin Delta College invites you to COLLEGE NIGHT 2012, Thursday, September 6th,
5:30-8:00pm in Danner Hall. Participants will have the opportunity to visit with four-year
university representatives and attend several specialized transfer workshops. For questions

St. Mary’s College Senior Admissions Counselor will host an information session on Friday,
Sept. 7th, at 9:05 am in the Library Computer Room. Sign-up up in the Career Education
Office.
Attention Juniors, if you have not yet signed up to take the PSAT on Saturday, October 20th,
you still have time to sign up but you will need to see the Bookkeeper right away to register.
The cost is $25.00. Deadline to register is Friday, September 14th.
SAT/PSAT/ACT Prep classes coming next month!!! Zaps Learning Company is offering a
two day Test Prep classes on campus at MHS (Millineum High) on Wednesday, September 12th
and Thursday, September 13th from 3pm 5:30pm. The price is $99 which includes
materials. To register, please go to www.zaps.com. Space is limited, so sign up as soon as you
can! There are also online SAT prep classes through the City of Tracy. In addition, Devry
University in Fremont, CA is offering free SAT prep workshops as well. You can contact:
