POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Quality Control Specialist
Classification: Non-exempt
Department: Day Program/Service Contracts
Supervision: Project Manager
SUMMARY: The Quality Control Specialist (QSC) will inspect all aspects of the custodial contracts. The QSC
will assist the Project Manager in the completion and collection of data related to the federal contract
requirements. The QCS will conduct onsite inspections at the various custodial locations. The QCS will
assist the Project Manager in the execution of their work duties and provide coverage in the Project Manager’s
absence.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
 High school diploma or equivalent
 Experience with custodial services
 Supervisory experience preferred
 Bilingual preferred, but not required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Reliable, regular attendance and punctuality
 Ability to understand and use appropriate grammar and vocabulary and communicate effectively,
appropriately and professionally in standard English, both verbally and in writing
 Good communication skills, both verbal and written
 Ability to work with other employees, departments and outside individuals in a positive, professional
manner
 Ability to pass security clearances at each federal contract
 Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to North Metro
administration
 Proficiency at Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
 Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and change priorities as needed to meet any scheduled or
unexpected deadlines
 Supervise janitorial crew and inspect work in the facilities to ensure that it meets Statement of Work
requirements
 Implement and maintain a quality control system to meet federal requirements and individual contract
requirements
 Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory for multiple locations
 Complete and pass training on the use of all equipment used in the janitorial industry
 Maintain customer invoicing
OTHER DUTIES:
 Demonstrate proper technique and assist with general janitorial duties, including but not limited to
sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, floor cleaning and snow removal as required by the
contract
 Ability to use personal vehicle in the performance of job duties as needed
 Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by participant and customer needs
 Compute simple arithmetic including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
 Adhere to the rules of the buildings

 Ability and willingness to safely lift, pivot, pull in the use of various types of janitorial equipment: 15
passenger van, vehicle lifts, dolly, janitorial carts, scrubbers, and vacuums box cutters, brooms, shovels,
gloves and protective masks.
 Ability to lift items to shoulder level or above.
 Ability to bend at the hips and knees in order to transfer janitorial supplies, and assist participants.
 Independently push and pull 250 pound rolling dollies, pallet jacks, and wheelchairs.
 Ability to lift up to 75 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance using proper lifting
techniques
 Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for period of time up to 7-8 hours in an 8-10 hour day.
 Ability to withstand exposure to various weather elements.
 Use janitorial machines (vacuum, buffer, scrubber, etc.).
 Dusting above head (up to 70 inches above head.)
 Squatting, kneeling, twisting and bending.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
Vehicles including 15-passenger vans, wheelchair lift, wheelchair tie-downs, pencils, pens, calculators,
automobiles, vans, pagers, cellular phones, computer, window scraper, janitorial machinery, mop, vacuum, broom,
snow shovel, pallet jack, buffer, scrubber, dollies, wheelchairs.
