Date: I started this new experience in September 2011 and I finished last month in “Gran
Cafè Giubbe Rosse”, the historical restaurant in Piazza della Repubblica, Firenze
Sector: catering and tourism.
Type of employment : Barman and waiter
Duties and responsibilities: I started this adventure in September 2011, 15 days after my
last job in Libreria Edison. In the beginning I could see immediately that this work was very
hard. First of all I had to learn a lot to begin working there. The restaurant is very famous in
Italy therefore the service must be perfect.I started to work in the morning and my duration
of job is always 10 hours a day. There are other duties: for example all day I must prepare a
buffet. When there are weddings. meetings, conferences, I must prepare the dining room
and I tell the other commis what to do. If something goes wrong the responsibility is mine
and I must correct all errors. I also worked for 1 month in another restaurant: Pesce Rosso. I
stayed in this restaurant when Giubbe Rosse was closed for restoration. These two
restaurants are affiliated and they have the same owners. My first job is as a waiter, but
sometimes I worked as a barman. This job is very important for me especially now because I
speak English and French better.
Date: in summer 2010 I worked in a bar situated in a famous library “Libreria Edison”. This
library is situated in the centre of Firenze.

Duties and responsibilities: This experience was very important for me because I was able
to improve my skills and learn more duties, for example I learnt to use a lot of implements
used for food like sandwiches, pasta, fruits, pie, cake and others. Most of our customers
spoke English so I was able to refine my knowledge of the language. In the evening this job
was very hard because this kind of library closed at midnight and for this reason I must
check all money, the temperature of all fridges and I had to clean the bar and reorder stocks.
I enjoyed working in this kind of atmosphere and the customers were very kind and
courteous so this made me happy.Finally I want to say that I was the youngest employee in
Libreria Edison.

Date: I worked for four summers at Pizzeria “Il Barrino”, a restaurant in Marina di
Castagneto. I started my work in June and I finished in September (2007 – 2010)

Duties and responsibilities: in the first year my duties were very easy: for example I made
a lot of coffee and provided other services. In this pizzeria there were a lot of tourists so I
was able to practice speaking English, French and German. I remember that I worked
especially in the evening. In the third year my manager gave me extra responsibility to
process the paperwork and be authorised to sign for deliveries. In 2010 I was only 19 and
therefore my job provided a lot of responsibility, which I enjoyed. I started to learn how I
can make some official drinks, like Negroni, Americano and other drinks recognized by
I.B.A.
Occupational training:
- Barman / Bartender: in August 2011 I attended a course of Basic Flair at the school “The
Bartending Flair Bartenders School” and I obtained the diploma after three exams:
theoretical examination, Free pouring test and practical examination. In the last exam I came
second. The aim of the lessons are to create the right preparation and decoration of all the drinks .
The lessons were handled by Master Trainers and Marco Corgnati, the 2011 champion of Flair.

Hygiene: I attended some lessons about hygiene and I obtained the certificate HACCP in
2008
Languages:

My official language is Italian but I can speak other 3 languages:
English: good reading skills, good writing skills and fluent oral expression. (all things can
be verified by my educational performance and by my travels around the Europe).
French: good writing skills, excellent reading skills and good oral expression.
German: this language is very difficult for me and I know some words for my job and basic
communication.
Education and training:

I started high school in 2005 and I finished in 2011. At the beginning I attended “Liceo
Linguistico Enrico Fermi” where I studied all science subjects and in particular English and
French. After two years I changed schools and I attended Liceo delle Scienze Sociali where
I obteined a diploma with a great result : 70/100. I studied these subjects: Italian, maths,
English, French, philosophy, chemistry, religion, physical education, history. In last one
years I attended some lessons in University of Pisa concerning languages.
