PROCEDURE IN APPLYING MAKE-UP
Sanitation: To avoid the spread of bacteria we must make sure we are following sanitary
procedures at all times.
1. Wash hands
2. Apply makeup remover (upward strokes)
3. Remove makeup remover.
4. Apply toner, then moisturizer
5. Put towel around client’s neck to prevent makeup from dropping and falling onto client’s
clothes. If necessary pin clients hair back.
6. Foundation
7. Concealer (if needed)

COMPLETION OF MAKE-UP:
1. Remove clips from hair.
2. Remove towel from neck.
3. Check clients hairline and neck to make sure there is no “line of demarcation”.
4. Sanitize applicators ie: Makeup sponge, mascara wands, spatulas, eyeshadow applicators,
and lipstick brushes. After the applicators are sanitized they are put into the dry sanitizer.

EYEBROW ARCHING
Procedure:
- seat client
- discuss shape of arch
- wash hands
- remove any eye make-up
- apply toner or astringent to soften eyebrows
- brush eyebrows to go into natural arch
- using orangewood stick, section hairs that need to be
tweezed.
- tweeze hair in the direction that the hair grows.
