Everett, WA — Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE Teen Select, one of Village Theatre’s Youth
Education Programs, is proud to present Pippin, a modern look at a classic story that has
captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere.
Pippin features an all teen cast age 12-18 as a present day theatre troupe that tells a
tongue-in-cheek story about the son of the 8th-Century King Charlemagne. On his quest to find
his true calling in life and complete fulfillment, Pippin tries war, love, politics, and other pursuits
before settling down. The energetic pop-influenced score by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell,
Wicked) bursts with show stopping numbers, from soaring ballads to infectious dance grooves, all
performed by 25 local teens.

A Village Theatre KIDSTAGE first, Pippin will be performed in the round. While
KIDSTAGE audiences typically sit in the 500 seat Everett Performing Arts Center Auditorium,
Pippin audiences will be seated on stage in a newly created 200 seat theatre in the round,
constructed specifically for Pippin. Audience members will be no more than three rows back
from the action. And in some cases, audiences will become part of the musical. At times, actors
will be in front, behind, next to, and even above the audience, providing audiences with a truly
one-of-a-kind theatre experience.
Directed by a Joel Waage and choreographed by Mo Brady, Pippin springs to life with
musical direction by Troy Wageman; lighting design by William McCoubrey; and Costume
Coordination by Tara Slosberg. See detailed cast list below.
