decision C(2008)6866 of 12/11/2008 laying down rules on the secondment to the
Commission of national experts and national experts in professional training.

2. Main areas of responsibility :
Unit B2, responsible for the internal electricity and gas market in the European Union
as well as promoting the single market principles with third countries, is looking for a
dynamic and experienced SNE to assist the team responsible for the completion of the
internal market for electricity and gas under the supervision of the head of unit.
The candidate will deal with the elaboration of the rules necessary to ensure the
effective regulation particularly in the gas sector. He/She will be involved in the
preparation of the comitology procedures necessary to the proper implementation on
the third energy package; he /she will assist the officials of the Commission in the
preparation of the regulatory Forums, notably the so called " Madrid Forum"; He /she
will be also assisting the officials in the monitoring of the implementation of the
internal market legislation in a number of Member States.
3. Main qualifications :
The ideal candidate should have a solid legal, economic and/or technical background
and proven professional experience in the energy sector, preferably in the gas sector.
He/She should have good analytical, drafting and communication skills, the capacity
to work as a member of a team and the sense of initiative.
4. Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of German or French is a
plus.
