The name says it: Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat. A SWOT analysis guides you to identify the
positives and negatives inside your organization (S-W) and outside of it, in the external environment (OT). Developing a full awareness of your situation can help with both strategic planning and decisionmaking.
Directions:
1. View an episode of Shark Tank (either on website/Live Binders or teacher will play it).
You will need to stop after the first Pitch.

2. Complete a SWOT analysis pretending to be one of the Sharks. You will need to reach a
decision on whether o not you would invest in the Pitch.
3. Watch the remainder of the segment. When the first Deal is reached, write a paragraph
explaining why you believe your SWOT results matched or didn’t match the deal being
made.
4. Complete your SWOT in Microsoft Word using a table.
