-50 Points
DIRECTIONS:
Congratulations, you’ve been selected to start a new travel agency called, “Ancient Adventures.”
Before anyone can sign up for a tour, you need to create a travel brochure, highlighting the unique
features of one destination in Mesoamerica.
I. PROCEDURE
You will research and design a tri-fold travel brochure advertising a trip to one of the following
locations. We will spend a few days in the computer lab, but plan on spending time working at
home. Choose one city from the list below:
1. Palenque, Mexico, --Mayan
2. Chitzen Itza, Mexico --Mayan
3. Mexico City, formerly Tenochtitlan, Aztec
4. Cuzco, Peru --Inca
5. Machu Picchu, Peru -- Inca
II. THE BROCHURE FORMAT
Your brochure should include six sections that fold together into a tri-fold booklet; see the format below!
Options: Present your information in tables, lists, short concise paragraphs, bullets, or
pictures with captions. Each page should include images, artwork or clip art. Have fun with
this assignment and think outside of the box; this is NOT a report! Happy travels!
III. TRI-FOLD FORMAT: Follow this format for your brochure. Each page needs a sub-title heading. The
cover will come out in the middle even though it looks like it won’t.
Culture:
–Explain (4) of the cultural aspects &
provide images
Farming, food, art, math, music,
clothing, calendar, transportation,
roads, language, communication,
astronomy, education, religion,
government, sports, jewelry, etc.
Map and Geography
Include a map that shows the
capital, major cities,
geographical features and
regions, bodies of water, ancient
sites and ruins, climate, and
weather.
Bibliography
List the book titles, author’s names
and websites. *A format will be given
in class.
About the Author
Write about yourself in the “third
person” and include a photo.
Amazing Facts and Photos or
“Your Choice” Creative Page

–A combination of photos &

Make a Cool
Cover

use clip art.
Give your brochure a clever title, and
have fitting a picture on it.

of this place.
