Lab Objectives/Outcomes:
 Student will be able to define an Annual Report, locate and print the 4 Financial Statements of one
for a publicly held company.
 Students will be able to locate key financial data and properly footnote it on the Financial
Statements.
 Student will be able to look up historic stock prices and calculate percentage change.
1. Exploring Yahoo! Sign on to the Internet (double click on the Explorer icon). Go to
www.yahoo.com . Click on Finance. Request information about Cabelas by inputting Cabelas ticker
symbol and clicking Get. If you do NOT know Cabelas ticker symbol, follow the steps for symbol
lookup and return to this screen. Take a look at this page and the information available here. Click on
the Profile link. Look at this page and information available here. (2 POINTS).

2. Find the 10-k. Under Financial Links, click on SEC Filings . Go to the bottom of this list and
click on the link, View All Filings on EDGAR Online. Click on the title “Form” which will sort the list by type of
form. Review this list and open the most recent annual report (also called the 10K or the S-1) on the
website.

3. Find the Financial Statements. Note: Not all 10-k documents for all companies look
identical! You will have to do a little hunting to find the Financial Statements you are looking for.
Review the entire table of contents and pick the statements that are all together. Note: There may be
more than one page per statement so print both pages.

4. Print the Financial Statements. Cut and paste the statement into Word. Start
with the Income Statement. Fit the document on ONE page, either portrait or landscape. Don’t go
smaller than 8 point font size! IMPORTANT: BEFORE PRINTING: TYPE the company’s full
name and type your name on top of THIS statement. Print the other 3 Financial
Statements (be sure to type Company’s full name and your name on the top of each statement).
