Summative Assessment - Exit Interview
The Final Assessment is intended to simulate that which might be expected in the world of work. It will consist of a
number of items, each indicating an element of work-related experience or preparation for career implementation.
Questions
You will be asked one question, chosen randomly from each of the sections below. In preparation for the interview,
prepare oral responses to the following questions.
Section A: Job Readiness
1.
Describe your three most valuable learning experiences.
2. What have you discovered about yourself and your future career selection that you were unaware of before your Coop experience?
3. What effect has this co-op placement had on your future career plans?
4. As a result of your co-op experiences, describe the kind of future job you would like to have.
Section B: Career Exploration
5. What specific skills are required to work in your chosen career?
6. What is the labour market like for the type of job within your chosen career path?
7. What education and/or training are needed to enter into the career path you have chosen?
8. Make a list of at least three post secondary institutions that offer programs for your chosen career path. Describe
the training [length, cost, does it include a co-op portion, etc.] offered at one of the institutions.
Section C: Reflective Learning and Health and Safety
9. Discuss how the people at your placement helped you to do the job that was required of you.
10. What learning took place at your co-op placement that could not have taken place in a regular classroom setting?
11. Imagine that you are interviewing a co-op student who is about to start their work experience at your placement.
How would you suggest the student prepare for the experience they are about to have? What piece of advice would
you give to them?
12. As you move forward from your co-op experience, what one memory will be foremost in your mind? If you had one
thing to do over again, what would it be and why?
