Project 2 Final Design Submission
Due Friday 11 June
The final design submission has two parts: an A1 poster (30%) and a report (70%):
The poster should be printed in colour and mounted on a board. The poster should
include the title of the project, the course code, the name of the students in the group.
Layout the content of the poster to visually present the 3D and 2D layout of the
design, and the design of the content in databases and cgis.
The report should have the following sections:
Title page (5)
This page gives the title of your project providing a name that gives your project
focus an identity. Also include on this page the names of the people in your group, the
unit of study, the date, and a graphic or image that further identifies your project.
Objectives (5)
You should list only 3-5 objectives..
Precedents/inspirations(5)
Show and explain any model web sites that are relevant to your preliminary design
development that influenced you. For inspiration, show any images, words, news
articles, or anything that you came across that inspired you. This section should be
visual with short text descriptions. Only select the ones that were most important to
you. Limit this to 2-4 precedents/inspirations.
Design (50)
This section should show your final design in two parts: the design of the user
experience and the design of the information in the databases.
User experience: show how you have designed the web pages to organize the
information available in text and images, and how you integrated the 3D world to
create a collaborative experience or to visualize information in the database. Describe
how the two interfaces are related or interact. Describe the user experience in terms of
the interactivity in the 3D and web windows. Include the name of the world for this
project.
Backend design: describe how you have organized the back end of your
project into database records, how the data is dynamically retrieved to layout the web
pages.
Evaluation(5)
Evaluate your design against the objectives.
