Circus Fest 2014
Date: 26 March – 27 April 2014
Venue: Roundhouse, Jacksons Lane, Shoreditch Town Hall, artsdepot, the Albany
and Highbury Fields.
CircusFest returns with five weeks of the best contemporary circus from around the
globe. Their 2014 festival promises to be the biggest and boldest they’ve ever
staged, featuring major world and UK premieres in the Main Space, brilliant new
shows in the Studio Theatre, a new Pop-up Tent, opportunities to run away with the
circus at our Take Part Weekend and an array of amazing shows and events
happening right across London.

CircusFest: La Meute
Date: 26 March – 6 April
Venue: Roundhouse
This French collective of brilliant French acrobats mix madcap humour with incredible
skill and collaboration to push their shows to spectacular extremes. La Meute –
translated as “The Wolf Pack” – are masters of the rarely-seen circus skill of Russian
Swing. It’s seldom seen with good reason. The stakes are high, as the six performers
use a giant swing to propel themselves up to 10 metres in the air. They must trust
that their compadres will be there when they return to earth… Join this group of
brilliant performers and close friends on a journey of cold sweat, fear, exhilaration
and idiosyncratic French humour, all packed with astounding skill, fearless ambition
and downright good fun. Recent graduates from the Stockholm University of
Dance and Circus, La Meute have been whipping up a storm on their home turf in

CircusFest: She Would Walk the Sky
Date: 9 April – 17 April 2014
Venue: Roundhouse Leave the real world at the door with this captivating and
stylish new production from the company behind the international smash-hit Cantina.
Recent building works on the foundations of the Roundhouse unearthed a small,
ornate black box. In the box was a book, the yellowed pages of which carried words
written in an unknown language. In a time of lost dreams, new hopes, old fires

The Sky was the result...
Featuring an awe-inspiring cast of world-class acrobats
and aerialists from worldwide hit shows including Circa, La Clique, Acrobat and
Circus Oz, this stylish new production is set to a brilliant soundtrack performed by a
live band. Director Chelsea McGuffin (Cantina, Circa) is joined by award-winning
Australian playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer.

CircusFest: Puffball
Date: 22 April – 27 April
Venue: Roundhouse
Made at the Roundhouse, Puffball is an exciting new collaboration between a group
of world-class circus performers and a brilliant young LGBTQ cast. ‘I am living in
and under the aftermath of an explosion, there are two of us here. One to tell the
stories, the other to build a home…’ Puffball is a new production devised and
performed by a new company of circus artists and a young LGBTQ (lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender and questioning) cast in collaboration with renowned artist
Mark Storor. Inspired by the cast’s own personal stories –exhilarating, heartbreaking, devastating and joyful – the show will be the culmination of a major yearlong project working with young people identifying as LGBTQ from towns and cities
across the UK. Fusing storytelling with beautiful circus performances, Puffball is set
