The Number and the Beast
Fully Devoted
He required everyone—small and great, rich and
poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on the
right hand or on the forehead. And no one could
buy or sell anything without that mark, which
was either the name of the beast or the number
representing his name. Wisdom is needed here.
Let the one with understanding solve the
meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the
number of a man. His number is 666 [13:16-18].
I, John, your brother and companion in the
suffering of the Kingdom and patient endurance
that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of
Patmos because of the Word of God and the
testimony of Jesus [1:9].
Sadyang napakahalaga sa mata ng Dios ang
Kanyang iglesya at hanggang wakas ito’y
Kanyang iniingatan.
maliligtas.
totohanan.
Panginoong Hesus, salamat dahil hanggang
wakas Iyong iniingatan ang bawat
mananampalataya. Nawa’y matagpuan Mo
This passage raised so much controversy in its
interpretation. With many interpretations lean
towards the extremes such as naming who is the
beast and decoding the number 666.
We have, in this chapter, a further description of
the enemies of the Christian faith: they are
represented as two beasts; the beast out of the
sea [1–10] the beast out of the earth [11-17].
The first beast represents secular power while
the second represents religious/ ecclesiastical
power.
The number of the beast is the number of man
and it is 666. This prophetic numbers means the
fullness of imperfection and evil [each one digit
less than the number of God-777]. This number
is imposed on people regardless of social and
economic status. Those who don’t have the
number become the enemy of the Beast. No one
can transact business whatever without this
mark.
It is interesting to note, the number is sealed on
the right hand and on the forehead. This is the
common practice in our modern world!

This is apostle John the Beloved who was thrown into
the island of Patmos because of his love for Jesus his
Lord.
The church during his time suffered from severe
persecutions. Many believers, men and women,
young and old were put into prison, crucified, thrown
into wild animals, wrapped in combustible garments
and was burned to death, tortured and slain, etc.
During Jesus’ ministry here on earth, John, was one
of Jesus’ core group members. John witnessed all the
miracles that Jesus did. He witnessed Jesus’
transfiguration, death and resurrection and Jesus’
ascension to heaven.
John was present when the Lord commissioned all
His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations.
John was not only numbered as one of the twelve
apostles but he was very close to Jesus too!
John served the Lord all his life. He wrote the Gospel
of John and three epistles that bear his name. What a
wonderful testimony and a very good example of a
fully devoted follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.
While John was in exile, on the remote island of
Patmos, God gave him visions in which God told him
to write everything that he saw. This now, is the Book
of Revelation, a book of prophecy detailing the things
to come and the final conflict between good and evil.
As Christians, let us enjoy our life now and the
freedom we have. Let nothing hinders us in our love
for God. Let us imitate John’s love and whole-hearted
devotion to Jesus until the end of his life.
Lord Jesus, help us to read and understand the
book of Revelation to help us become steady and
strong in our faith in you, amen.

“True Meaning of Salvation”
Nalalaman ko ang iyong mga gawa.(8a)
...upang malaman nilang iniibig
kita.(9b).Sapagkat tinupad mo ang aking
utos na magtiyaga, iingatan naman kita
pagdating ng panahon ng pagsubok sa
lahat ng tao sa buong sanlibutan. (10)
Ingatan mo ang mga katangiang nasa iyo
upang hindi maagaw ninuman ang iyong
korona. (11b)
bansa. Ginawa mo silang isang liping
maharlika at mga saserdote para
maglingkod sa ating Diyos; At sila’y
maghahari sa lupa.” Tumingin akong
“Salvation comes from our God who
sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”
Revelation 7:10
mayroon tayong malaking gantimpala.
Pagpapala na kung saan ipapakita Niya sa
lahat ng tao, mabuti man o masama, na
tayo'y Kanyang minamahal. At ang pabor at
pagkalinga ng Diyos ay nasa atin. Huwag
rin tayong matakot dahil tayo'y Kanyang
iingatan sa lahat ng mga pagsubok. Ingatan
lahat. At ang sinumang lumapit sa Diyos at
humingi ng kapatawaran at
manampalataya ay tinatanggap ng Diyos at
makakabilang sa kanyang kaharian. Kaya
ipagpatuloy natin ang pagpapahayag sa iba
tungkol kay Hesu-Cristo. Sapagkat ang
lahat ay “welcome” sa kaharian ng Diyos.
Panginoon naming Diyos, bigyan mo
walang hanggan. Salamat Ama..sa
walang hanggang awa at kahabagan, at
pag-ibig mo sa amin. Amen.
Obtaining salvation is simple. As the scripture
says ”For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Eph.
2:8,9). "Grace" means, that in spite of our being
so undeserving of salvation, God's unmerited
favor bestows it upon us. "Through faith"
indicates that faith is the channel, or instrument,
through which salvation comes to us. "Not of
yourselves" shows it is not our action that saves
us. "The gift of God" simply means that God
freely offers His salvation as a gift. You cannot
work or pay for a gift, for if you do, it
automatically ceases to be a gift. God's gift is
received free from the Giver.
What a wonderful feeling to grasp the real
meaning of salvation. This really makes me a
humble person and beyond the feeling of
judgementalism. We really can never judge a
person alone by his deeds or actions because all
human beings are unique and very special in the
eyes of God. We are all entitled to receive a free
gift of salvation from our God the Father who
always sits on the throne of grace and glory.
God is just waiting for our decision to accept it
based on our free will. Truly, the idea of
salvation washed away all my fears and
weaknesses. However, the consequences of our
sins will always be there while we live in this
sinful world. Sin can still take away our peace of
mind, our dignity, our happiness and most
especially our freedom. But God is there to
rescue us if we are willing to ask for repentance.
Nonetheless, I should never be afraid thinking
that salvation will be lost whenever I committed
a sin because I know that nobody could take it
away from me once I received the gift of
salvation.
Thank You, God, for providing salvation. The
idea that it came via the sacrifice of Your Son,
Jesus - The Lamb, shows me how special I
am to You.
April 1 (Friday): Revelation 9-10
The Seal of God
Destruction came to earth and to all
the people who did not have the seal
of God.(9:4)
God will punish those who continue to sin
against Him. Repentance is the key to
freedom, victory and salvation. We are
forgiven and saved when we confess our sins,
repent, ask for forgiveness and put our faith
in Christ Jesus.
Through repentance, there comes a CHANGE!
God doesn’t desire destruction. He created
us, the earth and everything in it. We are His
masterpiece. He wants us to get rid of the
things that make us dirty, unclean and
unpleasing. Those who are right with God are
the people with the seal mentioned in this
verse.
Let us live everyday, according to God’s
Word, according to His purpose and let us
continue to walk the right path.
Let us all have the seal of God.
Lord, I repent of all my sins,
stubbornness and selfishness. Please
forgive us our sins and save us. Thank
You. Amen.
