The Job Search team surveyed international students to identify how our office could provide
them with the information they need to navigate, cope, and eventually succeed in the job
search process. As a result, the International Student Workshop was created and over 80
students attended in the spring. The generated interest has resulted in the creation of the
International Student Workshop Series for fall 2012.
Impacting Students
The Career Decision Making team collaborated with First Year Experience for a second year
to facilitate the Sophomore Success Series. This workshop series was designed to provide
resources to assist students with their academic planning and career goals.
The Experiential Education team and the Director worked with University officials to create
an Internship Council. This council hopes to change University policy in effort to better
serve students interested in earning credit for learning experiences outside the classroom.
The Experiential Education team is working closely with the College of Engineering to
re-invigorate the Engineering Cooperative Education Program (Co-op).
The LSU Olinde Career Center
To better meet the needs of students, alumni and employers, plans are underway for the
LSU Olinde Career Center. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, May 10, in
celebration of the future home of LSU Career Services in the Student Union.
Fundraising efforts for this new state-of-the-art facility are still underway. The new center
will open sometime in 2013.
Please contact us for more information about naming opportunities, corporate matching gifts, and other
