Graduate assistant to Tamara Murdock, UMKC Department of Education, Kansas City,
MO, Aug. 2011—present, 20 hours per week. I provide assistance to Dr. Murdock for research,
teaching, and other professional responsibilities and act as a team member of the Kansas City Area
Educational Research Consortium (KC-AERC). My responsibilities have included helping plan,
research, and write literature reviews for grant proposals; analyzing data using SPSS; creating visual
representations of data using Excel; writing descriptions of data for presentations; editing
professional documents; and serving as liaison between KC-AERC and the UMKC Social Sciences
Institutional Review Board. Topics of research have included the participation of women,
minorities, and low-SES individuals in science, technology, education, and math (STEM) high
school and undergraduate education; the transition between high school and college; high school
and college predictors of college success; and barriers to and effects of 1:1 technology programs in
schools. I have worked with the Adolescent Health (AdHealth) database, as well as other large-scale
data sets collected from high schools and colleges in Kansas and Missouri. You may contact Dr.

Graduate assistant to Deb Woodard, UMKC School of Education, Kansas City, MO, Sept.
2010—August 2011, 15 hours per week. I maintained a file detailing students’ practicum and
internship placements, communicated with practicum and internship applicants and students about
their applications and placements, and sent and received Site Agreement and Community
Partnership Agreement forms signed by off-site supervisors. Special projects included developing a
30-page instructional manual for off-site supervisors, creating an Excel file containing Counseling
and Educational Psychology alumni contact and employment information, updating the practicum
and internship Blackboard sites, and assisting Ms. Woodard in grading papers for her school
