Dear Parents,
For the Fall 2014 semester, the Alfred University Bookstore is continuing a successful
program to make it easier for both parents and students to adjust to college life.
We realize that sometimes books and supplies may cost more than a parent or a student
anticipates. To make it less stressful for your son/daughter, we can set up either a debit
account (a declining balance account) or maintain a credit card number on file for the
student to use at the bookstore. In both cases, the parent may wish to limit the purchases
that the student makes on the account (i.e. textbooks, textbook Rentals, supplies,
clothing). We also offer an American Express Campus Edition re-loadable prepaid card.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the form on the
opposite side and return it to the Alfred University Bookstore. We will also be glad to set
up student accounts in person or over the phone. Please Note: any checks must be
payable to “Alfred University Bookstore” and sent directly to the bookstore address.
Please note that any money left over in a prepaid account will be carried forward to the
following semester or next academic year. Credit card accounts are maintained for one
academic year only and must be renewed annually.
New for Fall, the bookstore will be accepting Fiat Bux. Fiat Bux can be loaded on to
your student ID card at The Knight’sDen (Powell Campus Center) and MidKnight
Express (Ade Hall) during regular hours of service. You will be able to purchase
textbooks, merchandise and snacks in the bookstore.
**We also accept Barnes & Noble gift cards that are available at any Barnes & Noble
superstore or college store.
