Current Responsibilities
Erica Nelson is the Donor Relations Officer at the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation in Atlanta,
Georgia. Erica brings over five years of experience to her role where she is responsible for
designing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive stewardship and donor recognition
system across multiple hospitals. Erica is building a program that is designed to foster a growing
culture of philanthropy and ensure donors are fully engaged with the Foundation. As a dedicated
professional in her field, Erica is committed to the Foundation’s mission of nurturing
relationships to provide philanthropic support for Piedmont priorities.
Prior Experience
Mrs. Nelson joined Piedmont in December 1998. Prior to Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, Mrs.
Nelson served as the Patient Account Representative and Front Office Coordinator for the
Piedmont Medical Care Corporation. She managed the front desk, patient billing, and claims
process for three internal medicine physicians.
Education & Affiliations
She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Human Resource Management from
Strayer University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Shorter University.
Mrs. Nelson continues to build a strong network through local memberships with the Junior
League of Atlanta, the Association for Donor Relations Professionals and the Association of
Healthcare Philanthropy. She volunteers with the Douglas County School System and is the Vice
President of the Turner Middle School Local School Council.
