The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is India’s oldest civic
institution, and serves the needs of approximately 10 million
residents. As the primary urban civic body in Kolkata, the KMC
realized the importance of governance systems in order to cope
with the rapid urbanization and provide simplified and efficient
services to the citizens. Accordingly, it engaged the services of
TCS to rollout IT and e-governance reforms, and develop a
centralised Municipal Administrative System (MAS).
TCS used its technical expertise to provide KMC with a robust
integrated system that streamlined major processes and helped
the organization simplify major municipal functions, decrease
costs and increase revenue.

Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) is
