The research center is organized in two research groups:



PRIORITY RESEARCH DOMAINS
According to the Romanian RTD National Plan II:
1. Informatics and communications technologies
 1.2. Advanced informatics systems for e-services;
 1.4 Artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced autonomous systems;
 1.6. Technologies for distributed systems and embedded systems;
7. Innovative materials, processes, and products
 7.2. Advanced technologies in industrial process control;
 7.3. Technologies and high precision mechanical products and mechatronic systems.
According to the RTD European priorities:
 IST-2.2.2 New strategies, algorithms and tools for systematic and accurate design, prototyping and
control of complex distributed systems;
 ICT-2.1 Cognitive systems and robotics focuses on artificial cognitive systems and robots that
operate in dynamic, nondeterministic, real-life environments;
 NMP-3.1 Development of new processes and flexible and intelligent manufacturing systems.
RESEARCH AREAS







Control systems for robust vision (control structures in artificial vision; visual control of autonomous
systems; semantic 3D perception);
Autonomous platforms in processes automation (complex processing of events; distributed processing
on integrated systems; the analysis and solving of the constraints );
Distributed intelligent (remote) control of electrical drives (multi-axis motion control applied to
industrial robots; time delay systems; intelligent control systems for processes with uncertain or widely
varying parameters; modern fuzzy neural control techniques; self-learning fuzzy control systems);
Robot systems and flexible manufacturing lines programming;
Design and implementation of an IT&C infrastructure for promoting the innovation in management,
science and engineering of services;
Streamlining of the electrical distribution networks based on Smart Grid concept;
IT&C management systems for intelligent environments.

embedded
station (Intel compatible with GPU,
including administration & managing &
programming SW application, machine
vision, manipulation arm, motion sensing &
