MAT 133Y TEST ANNOUNCEMENT
December 15, 2015
You should be aware of the following information regarding the second term test for
MAT 133Y:
Date: Tuesday, January 19, 2016
Time: 6:10 PM–8 PM
Locations: See reverse of this page.
Bring along: A Rnon-graphing calculator with nothing in the memory and no button
that has an or d/dx on it (this will be enforced), writing implements including a
pencil and eraser and a pen, and your student ID card.
Format: There will be 10 multiple choice questions, for which you will need the pencil,
and 4 written–answer questions, for which you will need the pen. (When answering
multiple choice questions, only a single answer is acceptable. If you give two answers
for the same question you will get no credit, so if you change your mind, you will
have to erase your answer. In the written–answer questions, you must at least write
your final answers in pen and enclose them in a box.)
Covers: Chapters 6.6 of HP (Matrix Inverses); 10.1 through 10.4 of HP; Chapters 11.1
through 11.5 of HP; 12.1 through 12.7 of HP; Section 6 of Supplementary Material
on the MAT133 website (i.e., L’Hopital’s Rule).
Note: Quiz 7 in the first week of January covers HP 13.1-13.3, but the test on Jan. 19
does not go that far. It is strongly suggested that you try appropriate problems on
old term tests, straying into Test 3 for problems on some topics.
OTHER MAT 133Y BUSINESS:
A lecture section is changing some rooms in January:
L0101 Wed. 1-3 is moving from SS1073 to MP203. Mon. 1-2 remains in MP203.
A tutorial is changing rooms in January:
T0301A T3A is moving from RW142 to ES4001.
Unclaimed Test 1: Students who have not picked up their copies of Test 1 should come
during the office hours of A. Igelfeld (Mon. 1:30 to 3:00 and Thurs. 1:30 to 3:00PM

Conflicts: If you have a U of T class scheduled (optional classes don’t count) during
the test on Tuesday, Jan. 19 between 6 PM and 8 PM, you should put your name and
other information on the list which your lecturer will circulate, or, failing that, contact
A. Igelfeld (978-4447). Alternate arrangements have been made (see Clash Time above).
If you have not signed any such list, you will not be permitted to write at the alternate
time. If the Clash Time also conflicts with a regularly scheduled UofT class, you must
