Geography invites applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR beginning

August 2016. The department is searching for an outstanding scholar and teacher with a focus in

Sustainability or Coupled Human-Natural Systems using Quantitative Methods/Modeling ,

Geographic Information Systems, and/or Remote Sensing . Specialties in energy, agriculture, water resources, or climate variability are preferred. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses and to secure external funding would be an advantage. The successful candidate will teach courses that involve geospatial technologies and will be expected to develop an excellent instruction program and a research agenda that supports these specializations and the outreach/land grant mission of the university. This position offers an attractive start-up package and supports a National Science Foundation EPSCoR grant by providing applied research and educational programs that integrate geography, sociology, agriculturalenvironmental-resource economics, and ecology in a team environment that includes collaborators at the University of Oklahoma, the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, and the

University of Tulsa. A PhD in Geography or related discipline at the time of appointment is expected.

OSU Geography is a doctoral-granting department housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The department currently has 17 faculty members and approximately 45 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students. OSU is a Land Grant University with a resident student population of approximately 23,000. Stillwater is an attractive community of 50,000 equidistant from Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
