ACTA International TESOL Conference “TESOL as a Global Trade – Ethics, Equity and Ecology" 3rd to 5th July 2012. Pronunciation Symposium - 2nd July 2012. Update on 2014 ACTA Conference in Melbourne VicTESOL has established a Conference Committee who are currently deciding on a venue and title for the 2014 ACTA TESOL Conference to be held in Melbourne, hosted by VicTESOL. Members will be notified shortly of details. The 3 day conference will be held in the October school holidays. Next VicTESOL Professional Learning August 16, 2012 th August 16 2.30 – 5.30 pm In the National Year of Reading we present a focus on the use of literature in the EAL classroom on resources and strategies for reading and teaching texts to school and adult learners. Australian Council of TESOL Associations (ACTA) Advocacy VicTESOL continues to advocate for EAL learners by contributing to submissions made to through ACTA. Most recently this has included consultation on the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Performance and Development framework and the National Children's Commissioner Bill 2012. New Certificate IV qualification IBSA is scoping the development of a new Certificate IV qualification for inclusion in the TAE10 Training and Assessment Training Package. The proposed qualification will be designed to equip VET practitioners with skills and knowledge in the delivery and assessment of foundation skills.
