to submit this work to the NUTV Greenlite Arts Festival.
ABOUT THE 2011 PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
The competition is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, residing in Canada. All University of Calgary
students, staff, faculty, alumni and community are invited to participate.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions are online. Digital files are required. Digital submissions must be no longer than 800 pixels on
the longest side and saved as Jpegs (.jpg), in RGB format and must not exceed 4MB each file. Email your file to
greenlite@nutv.ca with PHOTO (YOUR NAME) as the subject line. Entrants must not infringe on the rights of
any other photographer.
You must have a large master file of your image for printing should you reach the final submissions. They
should be of high quality, cannot be smaller than 11x14 inches and cannot exceed 30x40 inches in size. There
will be a preliminary round, where the finalists will be shortlisted. The winners will be announced
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Best in Show Gala.
ENTRY FEES
There are no fees to enter.
THEMES
You may enter up to five images. This is an environmental film and arts festival; use your imagination to
reflect a message pertaining to environmentally themed subject matter. Some examples include:
- The food we choose to eat
- Spiritual healing using the environment
- Industrial exploitation
USE OF IMAGES
All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used by the NUTV Greenlite Arts
Festival for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital
media directly related to the competition, though there may not be monetary compensation. By entering in
the competition you are agreeing to have your work displayed or promoted through the NUTV Greenlite Arts
Festival website or marketing materials.
BEST IN SHOW
The images as well as the awards will be exhibited at the Best in Show Gala, Wednesday March 30, 2011.
Prizes for the top three photographs will be announced and awarded that evening.
THE JUDGING PROCESS
Winners will be determined by a jury. We want to see fresh images that reflect your talent. When you try to
make your photographs unique in some way, you increase your chances of moving to the next round. Digital
manipulation of photographs is acceptable.
