Battalion consisting of 5 companies, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Forward

Company, assigned to the 130th Engineer Brigade; Led the battalion to deployment to
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in support of United States Division-North (USD-N);
provided full spectrum engineer operations to three Brigade Combat Teams with assured
mobility, countermobility, survivability and general engineer support; Evaluated the
effectiveness of operations by mission accomplishments, standard procedures, policy and
regulatory compliance; overseas the training, counseling, development, quality of life,

provided battle focused training to platoons to clear over 27,307 KM of routes and find 9
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs); Cross-trained a Sapper Company and a Mobility
Augmentation Company to conduct the directed mission essential task of route clearance.
Evaluated and trained engineers on route clearance procedures at National Training
Center (NTC) in a capacity of a certified combat trainer in preparation of deploying a unit
to deploy to Afghanistan; Provided training on tactics and training procedures with the
use of robotics to include the talon robot, the buffalo, and area clearance using the
