Mercyhurst University sets forth the conditions upon which it will admit graduates of

Mercyhurst University, the North East campus. This document sets forth those
conditions which the parties hereby agree to.
A. Rationale for the articulation agreement
This agreement applies to graduates of Jamestown Community College's ACENaccredited Associate in Applied Science program in Nursing. JCC is an established
community college and member of the State University of New York system of higher
education. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure, through clear communication,
the efficient and orderly movement of students between the institutions while
guaranteeing students’ continuous advancement in learning. Specifically, this
transfer articulation agreement outlines opportunities for graduates of the Associate
in Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) degree program at Jamestown Community
College to the Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
completion program at Mercyhurst University, the North East campus.
B. Description of how the agreement may be renewed or terminated
1. Jamestown Community College agrees to promptly notify Mercyhurst University
upon any substantive modification to the curriculum, and further agrees that the
terms of this agreement will no longer hold unless Mercyhurst provides a written
approval that the curricular changes do not alter the intent of this agreement.
2. Mercyhurst University agrees to provide Jamestown Community College with
information about the BS Nursing program of study and any changes to the
curriculum, should they occur. Conditions for admission into the BS in Nursing
program are stipulated in Section C of this document.

3. Jamestown Community College and Mercyhurst University agree to review the
terms, conditions, and effects of this agreement every two years.
4. The terms of this agreement shall remain in effect, except as stipulated in certain
previous terms listed herein, until terminated by either party. Any party may
terminate the agreement with or without cause, on the provision of 120 days written
notice to the other parties.

Nursing at Jamestown Community College will be guaranteed admission into the BS

Mercyhurst University, the North East campus two months prior to the beginning of
classes.
4. Successful transfer students must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA in all
attempted courses at the post-secondary level.
5. Transfer students must achieve a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 in their
