TiCares—PAS
Schneider Electric has responded to the technological demands
of the healthcare sector with a wide range of products and
solutions to allow for the technological integration required by the
application.
TiCares is the Schneider Electric solution covering the entire healthcare cycle.
The components, while perfectly integrated, allow each healthcare process to be
modularised independently. Functionally independent, they integrate with all the
others, to adapt to the specific needs of each client.
TiCares is structured into three levels, each corresponding to a different area of
the healthcare process:
•
The Clinical File Archive,
one of more than a
dozen TiCares-PAS
sub-systems, maintains
the clinical information
documentation for
patients attended
at the centre; this
documentation is
essential for medical
intervention.
TiCares- PAS (Patient Administration System), covering the administrative
level
•
TiCares-CIS (Clinical Information System), covering the clinical level
•
TiCares-DIS (Departmental Information Systems), covering the departmental
level.
TiCares—PAS: Patient Administration System
The market is always changing. With our consulting services, your company will
successfully adapt to market needs as they evolve, positioning you for continued
growth and profitability.
TiCares-PAS is a series of sub-systems specialised in supplying the information
system with all it needs for patient management: affiliation, appointments,
location in the centre. This optimises care and the management of available
documentation.
The solution includes all the administrative functionalities required by hospital
health care.
TiCares-PAS is structured like a pyramid. On the base is the Activities System.
On the first level, the element activity unit consists of the episodes in the Clinical
Files, the responsibility of each functional unit. On the second level, these are
associated with the requests and prescriptions (sub-episodes) made to secondlevel functional units (centralised or intermediate services).
TiCares is fully compatible with international
interoperability standards and frameworks, such as HL7,
DICOM and IHE.

TiCares—PAS
TiCares is fully compatible with international
interoperability standards and frameworks, such
as HL7, DICOM and IHE. This allows it to be
integrated with other Schneider Electric solutions
and with software from other providers.
The following information sub-systems are
components of TiCares-PAS, as part of a
homogenous series of features, functions and
appearance:
External Consultations
The Schneider Electric global solution to link
patient appointment services with consultations at
the centre. It includes agenda administration and
the management of appointments, waiting lists,
recitals, activity management and sending letters.
Modification and cancellation of appointments,
inclusion of urgent cases without appointment and
confirmation of attendance.
Diagnostic Tests
Information system to manage requests for tests,
on demand or to a fixed schedule. The tests will
be associated with the corresponding care. The
appointment for tests function is similar to that
of the “External Consultation” sub-system. The
activity may also be managed from the point of
view of the diagnostic service.
Rehabilitation
This Schneider Electric information sub-system
makes it possible to take into account the
peculiarities of the rehabilitation service with
regard to conventional schedules, including staff
schedules and material resources as well as the
rehabilitation therapy cycle.
Acute Hospitalization
Pre-admission and admission, transfers and
discharge. Includes the corresponding lists and
statistics for ease of management.
Day Hospitalization
This Schneider Electric solution is very similar to
“Acute Hospitalization”. It concentrates on the
peculiarities of this type of hospital admission,
differentiating it from the former medical or surgical
admission.

A&E
The Schneider Electric A&E sub-system allows for the management of patients
in this hospital area, triage and allocation to the corresponding observation
units, as the case may be. It also includes administrative admission for
possible hospitalization.
Home Healthcare
The Schneider Electric global solution for managing patient home care.
Different schedules can be programmed (physician, nurses, etc.) to process
requests and to manage appointments for patients needing this type of care.
Surgery Waiting List
This information sub-system is the Schneider Electric solution for logging
surgery demand, including the relevant data on patients requiring surgery. In
addition to inclusions and cancellations from the Log, it also manages status
changes (passive, active, historic) and the control of reservations. It has an
extensive range of inclusion search criteria.
Surgery Management
Administration and management of surgical operations is another critical
activity for healthcare centres. Together with “Surgery Waiting List” this
Schneider Electric sub-system covers all aspects of surgery management.
The basic functionalities supported by this solution are surgery programming,
reservations, schedule management, operation management including the
filling out of reports, and information on performance and availability.
Clinical File Archive
This Schneider Electric sub-system maintains the Clinical File documentation
which makes up the physical support containing clinical information on
patients attended at the centre. This documentation is essential for medical
intervention.
As part of the management operations provided, this sub-system has several
functionalities for logging incoming/outgoing documentation and controlling
the location of files. In addition to traditional incoming/outgoing, files may
be delivered in accordance with future appointments and admissions. Other
functions: debugging and merging of duplicate files, specifying decease when
applicable, logging losses, reclaiming files after use, assigning file numbers.
MDBS Coding
The Schneider Electric Global Solution (Minimum Database Series) that
manages and provides information on hospital admission as required by the
health authorities for each patient, their environment, the institution taking
responsibility for the patient and the healthcare services rendered.

The aim of this application is to prepare all this
information, concentrating mainly on the coding of
procedures and diagnoses, and allowing it to be
exported in the required format.
The coding of these procedures and diagnoses
is based on the International Classification of
Diseases, officially regulated by the Ministry for
Health.
User Service
This Schneider Electric sub-system attends to
users requiring information about the centre (e.g.
date of an appointment) or about a relative (e.g.
patient room).
When a patient receives any particular healthcare
service, a message is automatically included from
a TiCares sub-system to explain it. The “User

Service” sub-system may be used to see these

(diets) given by the centre to patients and, when
applicable, their companions.
It is based on a definition of the meals (and their
ingredients) to be served in the centre. Once
a meal cycle has been established, the dishes
assigned to each meal (breakfast, lunch and
dinner) may be defined, along with the days of the
cycle. Once defined, the menu for each day can
be checked. Diets may be assigned to patients
and their companions, and to plan meals over
forthcoming days. This may also be done from the
“Nursing Care” sub-system.
