n analysis of 2008 voting results shows President Obama
received the majority of his support from states with the highest
concentration of breweries. This chart ranks the states plus the District of
Columbia according to the number of breweries per square mile. Brewery
data from the Brewers Association (2010) includes all brewery types
(national, regional, micro and brewpub). Boldface states are regarded as
swing states in the 2012 presidential campaign.
