Combined Programs
Surgery
Self-Directed Weight Management*
Bariatric Pre-Surgery Program*
This program is run by you with help from your primary
care doctor. You choose what you want to do. Your
doctor will help you make a plan of action. This plan
can include parts or all of the following:
This program helps you prepare for bariatric surgery.
The six-week program includes:
• Diet changes
• Exercise
• Behavior changes
• Mental health
• Meetings with experts in above areas
Tell your doctor what interests you most. He or she
will answer any questions you may have. Ask your
doctor for a referral to see a dieititian. To schedule an
appointment, call (269) 341-6860. Call your insurance
provider to see what they will cover.

LEAF Program:
Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, Food*
This is a program to help change your entire lifestyle.
The program includes:
• Individual meeting with a dietitian
• Eight weekly group education classes taught
by a psychologist and dietitian
• Four one-on-one meetings with an exercise physiologist
• Eight unsupervised workouts at the Bronson
Athletic Club

Bariatric Surgery
If you are severely overweight, bariatric surgery may
be right for you. Attending an information session can
help you decide if surgery is the right choice. Bronson
follows the National Institute of Health criteria. For
those thinking about surgery, you must meet the
following:
• Age 18 or older
• BMI must be more than 40 or 35 with comorbidities
• Previously tried non-surgical weight loss options
