Understand the essential elements of the law of contracts.

Identify the issues arising in a contract law problem and give
appropriate advice;

Understand the nature of legal rules and how they relate to matters of
contract; and

Have some idea of the theoretical underpinnings of contract law,
including the remedial regimes available.

This course deals with the branch of Civil Law which determines whether a
promise is legally enforceable. It outlines the factors necessary for a contract to be
legally enforceable. It further details the factors that can invalidate contracts and
gives an account of the consequences and remedies available for any break of a
contractual promise.
