. From the prosparadosis of ID 1442.
10
. Astaton is singular in ID 1417, which should mean it describes the directly preceding torch (#76), but none of the other inventories
describes the torch as unweighed (ID 1425, 1426, 1442, 1444).

(1442B63 has the following special prosparadosis from a melting down of old dedications after the Sarapieion18 )
In the Thesmophorion
Silver basket (= 80) which we ourselves made w. the advice of the overseers from the destroyed and useless reliefs and small
torches in the sanctuary and those added in our year wt 323.
The individual small torches and scraps of what was made into ingots (“funnelled”) just as it was in the records of the
paradosis:
Larger gilded small torches c. seven palms wt 10.4; other smaller on bases wt 8; reliefs and small torches wt 21; other
torches wt 13.3; two small torches and another seven which Philoklea took over wt 17.2 [but they- - -] weighed 11;19 two
five palm torches wt 5.3+; three torches given over for the two ten palm ones, one in the paradosis wt 17.3 but weighed
they weighed 18; reliefs and small torches wt 37.3; two small torches c. five palms, these weighed by us and the priestess
weighed 30; small torch c. three palms, ded. Kleopatra, weighed it likewise weighed .3; small torches and smooth relief wt
2; small torch c. a foot, ded. Heraiskos, weighed by us and the priestess it weighed 2.2; yoked small torch c. three palms,
weighed by us and the priestess it weighed .4; figure on base which weighed two; relief which weighed .4.
Sum 297.3; and the addenda in our year of torches and scraps as the priestess Megaklea disclosed 16.2.
Total sum for the same 31320
Having made the basket w. this amount of wt and having inscr. the demos of the Athenians from the
reliefs and torches and scraps we have given it over to those taking office after us.
18
. See DCA 244.
. This and probably the following item (and perhaps more) were listed in the inventories of earlier treasures.
20
. This is not exactly the sum of 297.3 and 16.2, nor does this produce a basket weighing 323. The extant weights of the individual items,
which are virtually complete, total 159 so one may also question the sum 297.3.
