of water. It should float.
Temperature

Japan is in the northern hemisphere. August is summer in the northern hemisphere. It is was more
likely to be hot in the latitudes where Japan is located. A temperature of 30O F would be below the
freezing point of water. The temperature is probably in Celsius.
The zero point of the Kelvin scale is set at absolute zero, the theoretical coldest possible temperature.
What advantage does the Kelvin scale have compared to the Celsius or Fahrenheit scale?
There are never any negative temperatures in the Kelvin scale. This eliminates complications in
mathematical calculations involving extremely cold temperatures.
