- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (8 - 10 hours)

* A transfer student applicant (traditional programs) is defined as a degree -seeking student who has earned a minimum of 12
semester (18 quarter) hours of transferable credit at a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
*(Transfer students are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores or high school transcript.
* Credits earned through Prior Learning Assessment cannot be used to meet the minimum credit hour requirement for admission.
*Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended must be sent to the Office of Admission.
*Students must be in good academic, disciplinary and financial standings at previous colleges/universities attended. An evaluation of
transfer credit will be forwarded with the acceptance letter showing courses accepted in transfer and courses/hours that still need to
be completed at Lewis.
*Prerequisite courses to take at Morton College: ENG 101, ENG 102, BIO 103, BIO 104, BIO 212, CHM 205, PSY 101, PSY 215, MAT
141, SPE 101, and 9 hrs. of Fine Arts/Humanities.

* A current, unencumbered Illinois registered nurse (RN) license.
* All Morton year one, two and three coursework must be completed prior to enrolling in Benedictine’s nursing cohort classes.
* Demonstrated computer proficiency by a completed Benedictine University Computer Literacy Questionnaire.
* Letter of recommendation from a manager or supervisor. New graduates may obtain a letter from a clinical nursing instructor.

University or transferred from other institutions: Introduction to Research Writing, College Algebra, Biology of Cells, Principles of
Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, Microbiology, General Psychology, Lifespan Development, General
Statistics, Pathophysiology.
* All pre-requisite courses taken must be completed with a “C” or higher prior to the time of review of the applicant’s file for entry
into the School of Nursing
*All science pre-requisites must have been completed within the last ten years.

*Individuals in the process of completing an AAS in nursing and RN Licensure may be admitted conditionally for one semester with
the provision that the RN be obtained by the end of the first semester of GSU enrollment.
*If at the end of the first semester one has not achieved their RN License, she or he will be prohibited from enrolling in nursing
classes until the conditions have been met.
*All transfer credit must be completed with a grade of “C” or above. Students rece iving a “D or F” in upper division courses with the
NURS prefix may only repeat two nursing courses before being academically dismissed from the BSN.
