First Activity - Focused multi-tasking
1.Put CAPS LOCK ON.
2.When I say go, type the letters of the alphabet
from A-Z then the numbers 1-26 all in order with
no spaces between. I will start the online
stopwatch.
3.When you are done, record the time it took you
to type A-26 AND the number of errors you have.
Multi-tasking: Listening to soft, classical music and
typing. Doing one doesn’t impede upon the other.
Second Activity - Turn taking
1.When I say go, type the letters of the alphabet in
order with the numbers 1-26 in between each.
a.It will look something like this: A1B2C3D4E5....
Z26
2.When you are done, record the time it took you
to type A-26 AND the number of errors you have.
Control: soft, classical music
Variable: Interlacing the letters and numbers
Turn-taking: Having to remember where you left
off on the last activity.
Third Activity - Continuous Partial Attention
1.When I say go, type the letters of the alphabet
as you did in the second activity.
2.When you are done, record the time it took you
to type A-26 AND the number of errors you have.
Control: Interlacing as in the second activity.
Variable: loud, annoying or fun music video
CPA: Trying to give all tasks equal weight.
