Liberal Arts Electives for Limited Access Majors
Students majoring in Advertising-Public Relations, Journalism, and Radio-Television are required to
complete 80 hours outside of the disciplines represented within the Nicholson School of Communication
(NSC) as part of the 120 hours needed for graduation. The 80 hours must include a minimum of 65
Liberal Arts credit hours, which are typically courses from the College of Arts and Humanities
(CAH) and the College of Science (COS), excluding Communication. Transfer course work used to
satisfy NSC courses must be approved by a NSC advisor.
Listed below are the departments and programs under the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) and the
College of Science (COS). Choose your electives and minor, if applicable, very carefully. As always,
see your advisor for guidance.
