The Joyful Child Foundation’s BRAVE Workshops are 90- minute
age-appropriate life skills lessons that include physical skills to defend
VIOLENCE & ABDUCTION

against sexual abuse, violence or abduction.
Students develop
BRAVE Plans for:
The goal of the BRAVE Workshops is to reduce the risk of victimization by
providing knowledge and skills about personal safety. Lessons are designed

to nurture each student’s ability to recognize potential dangers, verbalize
discomfort or a need for help, and physically resist abduction, assault, or

violence. Students are empowered to make brave, safe, and healthy choices.
Students must wear close-toed shoes and parents are required to stay for the
workshop to learn the self defense skills as well.
