About the activities ....
Tiny Tots Time: A drop-in aimed at the early learning and development of
children under 18 months. Providing access to a range of carefully planned,
stimulating resources and activities. With My Journey books and Makaton sign
of the week. Last entry 10.45am.
Stay and Play: Support children’s early learning by talking, singing, and
sharing activities in a safe and stimulating environment. A place for grown-ups to
meet and share parenting experiences. Last entry 45minutes before end of
sessions.
Mini Library: An opportunity to borrow one book at a time from our Mini
Library. Books must be returned within 2 weeks and in good condition.
Family Support Clinic: Offers practical and emotional support dealing with
problems such as managing a budget, improving confidence, managing children’s
behaviour and more. To book an appointment with a Family Support Practitioner
please speak to the reception staff or phone the centre.
Childminders Group: For Hackney registered childminders and children in their
care ONLY. Parents/carers looking for a childminder may be invited. Please
contact Grace Opon on 020 8986 7441 or 07768 348 360.
Parenting advice with First Steps: First Steps offers support in areas such as:
eating, sleeping, crying, behaviour, toilet training, relationships and emotional
issues, and more. To book an appointment with Julia please phone the First
Steps team on 020 7683 4611.
Child Development Clinic: Important 8-10 month and 27 month development
check-up. Get your child’s FREE Oral heath pack. Call the centre for an
appointment.

ESOL: English for speakers of other languages entry level 3:
September 2015-July 2016. Term time only. Crèche provided.
Baby Sure Start: A 6 week course for new families addressing all those
questions, worries and concerns you may have as a new parent, such as
sleeping, weaning, attachment and much more. Run by our local health visitor.
Women’s Trust Counselling Sessions: Woman’s Trust is a support and
mental health service for women affected by domestic violence. Our practitioner
Miha offers one-to-one counselling sessions.
Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities:
A 13 week course for Hackney dads, mums and other carers. Topics include:
Enhancing Relationships, Positive Discipline, Culture, Rites of Passage,
Community Involvement. Refreshments and crèche provided for all sessions.
Antenatal Clinic: By appointment ONLY.
Postnatal Clinic: A drop in clinic for babies between 10-28days old.
Sing and Sign with Corin: This course will teach you how to use Makaton
signs and music to support your child's development and communication skills.
Babies group: 6-18 months, toddlers group: 19-36 months.
ICT Level 1: This is an accredited course for those who have achieved an Entry
Level 3 Certificate or already have some computers skills. The course covers
word processing using MS Word, spreadsheets using MS Excel and presentation
Using PowerPoint.
Functional Skills English: This course will help you work towards gaining
recognised qualifications that may help you secure employment, or just improve
skills that will help you in everyday life.
