EPARTMENT INFORMATION:
Health Services Administration is one
of seven departments in the College of
Nursing and Health Sciences. The
mission of the department is to:
 Prepare students to become
health service managers and
leaders

DMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Students can apply for admission any semester. FIU
undergraduate applications can be submitted online

Completion of University Core Curriculum or an
AA from an accredited State of Florida institution
2.5 cumulative GPA
Completion of the following prerequisite classes
with a grade of B- or better. (see back of sheet for
list of acceptable courses)
 Microeconomics
 Accounting for Decisions
 Introduction to Microcomputers
 Statistics
ROGRAM INFORMATION:
The Health Services Administration
program is a 60 credit course of study
leading to a Bachelor in Health
Services Administration degree. The
program can be completed in five
semesters of full-time study or on a
part-time schedule. Courses are
primarily offered in the evening after
5:00; however some daytime and
online courses are available. Students
have the option of completing a three
credit internship that requires 210
hours of practicum experience at one
of our clinical affiliates.

AREER OPPORTUNITIES:
The BHSA program qualifies graduates for entry-level
management positions in a variety of health related
organizations or for further education at the graduate
level. Job opportunities are possible in management
positions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, health
insurance, rehabilitation centers, home healthcare,
private medical practices and non-profit healthcare.
