grounds for aspiring single seater and sports car drivers.”

British based Formula Kart Stars (FKS) is a karting
championship offering young driving talent the first steps
onto the motorsport ladder supported with an educational
program. FKS will allow competitors aged 8-16 to compete in
a world-class karting series at a fixed cost with controlled
equipment for equal performance racing, giving more
emphasis on the driver’s ability.

The championship is already receiving high levels of interest
since announcing its new 2015 structure at the British
Grand Prix in front of the F1 teams and drivers. FKS will set
new standards in karting with an environment that will be
more in keeping with an F1 paddock and pit area so that
competitors and commercial partners can operate at the
level that reflects a new generation of karting with a
controlled formula on and off the track.

After being unveiled at the 2014 Formula One British Grand
Prix at Silverstone, FKS is the only junior karting series
backed by Formula One Management and supported by
Formula One driver development teams. Bernie Ecclestone,
who has supported FKS since 2009, has been active in the
formulation of the new FKS Championship. FKS will provide its
competitors with the best possible route into Formula One.

The 2015 Championship will combine controlled equipment,
designed and distributed by the Championship to offer
competitors a unique and market leading level playing field.
Therefore, giving a bigger emphasis on the driver’s ability.

Initially formed in 1995, the McLaren Mercedes Champions of the
Future Series was formed by Ron Dennis, Norbert Haug and Martin
Hines.

In it’s first season, the series received considerable television coverage
on ITV and the inaugural champions were Lewis Hamilton (Cadet),
Andrew Delahunty (Yamaha) and Gary Paffett (Intercontinental).

Through it’s different guises (McLaren Mercedes Champions of the
Future, BRDC Stars of Tomorrow and FKS) the series has attracted
sponsorship from reputable firms such as TAG Heuer, Mobil 1 and
Mattel Hot Wheels.

FKS has helped shape the careers of established drivers such as Lewis
Hamilton, Paul Di Resta, Gary Paffett, Max Chilton, Susie Wolff amongst
many others.

Many of our ex-drivers continue to support the Championship by
way of prizes or endorsement. 2008 F1 World Champion and
Championship “Old Boy” Lewis Hamilton is Patron of the series.

long after they have left the Championship.

After a hugely successful unveiling at the 2014 British
Grand Prix at Silverstone, FKS 2015 provides its
competitors and supporters with the most complete
junior karting championship to date.

With the support of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Lotus,
Scuderia Toro Rosso and Williams F1 Teams, FKS seeks
to provide the initial proving ground for young drivers on
their route through the Formulas.
•
Starting in April 2015, it will run in the UK for the 2015
season before being rolled out globally from 2016, with
races being held in Formula 1 hosting nations.
