Rose Introductions Aswe turn the page on 2015, we naturally begin to think of new things, and look with
anticipation to what the new year might bring. Fordedicated gardeners and rose growers, those “new
things” always seem toinclude new roses and maybe even new gardens, or at least improvementsto
existing gardens. Serious rose growers are always looking for thenewer and better roses coming on the
market. With that in mind, ourprogram for January will feature the new roses being introduced in2016, along
with a “look back” at some recent introductions, with anassessment of how they are doing in our area. Meg
will briefly describesome of the "test & trial" programs and show pictures of many of thewinners, along with
a review of what works in our area. Mark yourcalendar ~ Start 2016 right ~ Plan to come and bring a friend.
Speaker:Meg Ware Meg Ware is a Master Rosarian who grows and exhibits roses ofseveral types. Meg, and
hubby Bill, maintain beautiful gardens in theFair Oaks development. While Meg and Bill grow some of the
traditionalhybrids and miniatures, they also have an adventure-some spirit whichleads them to an
assortment of unusual shrubs and old garden roses. Meghas been a “student” of roses for many years and
has a wealth ofknowledge to share with us. She will briefly describe some of the“test & trial” programs and
show pictures of many of the winners. Mostof the new roses will be in local nurseries in late February – early
March, and you will want to do your rose shopping armed with thisinformation.
