Interpersonal communication
It’s a full body workout
Communication permeates everything we do, from the time
we get up in the morning until we go to bed at night. Whether
it’s a quick glance at a co-worker, or a presentation made to
a workgroup, those around us are continually picking up the
messages and “communication” we send out verbally and
especially non-verbally.
What you’ll learn
In this course, you will learn about the elements of verbal and non-verbal
communication and learn techniques to improve communication skills in both
day-to-day and stressful situations.
By the end of this course, you will:
•Understand the three parts of a message and how they combine to communicate
in interpersonal encounters
•Have a better understanding of your own interpersonal style, the style of others,
and how to use this understanding to improve communication, co-operation and
effectiveness
•Have a better understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal communication
•Have learned and practiced basic interpersonal communication skills such as active
listening and asking powerful questions
Who should take this course?
In a word? Everyone. How well you communicate with others affects how well you
function in your job, your interpersonal relationships and in life. Research has shown
that your ability to communicate effectively is a better indicator of workplace success
than your technical knowledge is! This course is designed for anyone who interacts
with other people at work and socially.
