First Class Assignment for IP Practice Workshop (Law 762)
This class will have its first meeting on August 23, 2008 (Saturday), 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in
room 212. We will introduce the basic law on the first project which involves advising a new
business that markets on the Internet on trademark and domain name matters. Internet
trademark practice research tools that will be used for the first project will be introduced.
The only required text is: Goldstein and Kitch, Unfair Competition, Trademark, Copyright and
Patent, Selected Statutes and International Agreements, 2008 edition. This class should be
brought to each class, as it is used regularly in class.
The course web site should be accessible at the beginning of next week, for you to review the
course syllabus and first project details before the first class. You can access the course web site
by going to the Web Tycho link on the UB home page, entering your network ID and the last
four digits of your student ID, or your current Web Tycho password.
Your first assignment is to send me a message from the CLASS MEMBERS page confirming
you have accessed the web site. If you have a problem with access or sending a message, please
contract the Web Tycho System Manager, Terry Ross, at tross@ubalt.edu .
